Following pickup from your Brussels hotel, make the 40-minute drive south to city of Waterloo, where notorious French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte met his final defeat in 1815 in one of the most epic battles in history. Drive past the Duke of Wellington’s former headquarters. Then head out onto the battlefield, where you’ll see where the forces entered into combat and view the grand Gordon Monument, in honor of Allied Lieutenant-Colonel Sir William Alexander Gordon of the Scots Guards.
